[Review] Etude House Skin Mal:gem Moist

Hello dear girls and boys! I'm back with another review today. I know many of you were waiting for the skin mal:gem Moist from Etude House review for so long! I'm sorry for the huge delay!

Etude House and their awesome and effective line, Skin Mal:gem. One of my first reviews was skin mal:gem Fresh I wrote more than a year ago. I'm not sure if I should link it here because I was a newbie blogger back then. But here it is!

Moist, is a thick moisturizing toner that you apply after cleansing toners such as mal:gem Fresh and Smoother (both from the same line) or just after you cleanse your face. The instructions suggest you to dispense some on a cotton pad but I don't do that because this toner is as thick as serum. Maybe thicker than most serums out there. I dispense some on my finger tips and lightly massage my face and pat lightly. It get absorbed after a few seconds. I use it twice a day.

Does it work? It is very moisturizing for my oily combination skin but it doesn't make my skin extra oily. Remember, even oily skin needs moisture.

So the main use of this toner, at least for me, is as a moisturizing serum.
Ingredient List: Water, Dripropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Myrtillus Fruit/ LEaf Extract Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Panthenol, orchid Extract, Camellia Sinesis LEaf Extract, Camellia Japonica leaf Extract, Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, PEG-60 Hydrogenated CAstor Oil, PEG-8. Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

No alcohol yay! It doesn't break me out!

I don't know how to speak or read hangul but I'm guessing the above photo is about other ways to use this toner. You can get plain dry sheet masks or square thin cotton pads and soak them in moist toner then place them on face for 30 minutes or so. I haven't tried that yet but I should!

For those who have very very dry skin, there is an extra moisturizing version of this called Skin mal:gem Deep Moist. This line is one of the best products Etude House has released and I recommend them to everybody.

Skin mal:gem Products:

  • Fresh (Cleansing toner for Oily skin)
  • Smoother (Exfoliating Toner)
  • Moist (Moisturising Toner)
  • Deep Moist (Extra Moisturizing Toner)
  • Essential (oil+toner for Combination skin)
I have only used Fresh, Smoother and Moist. The Smoother review coming soon! Maybe real soon! I'm being curious about the Essential though.

MY RATING 5 out of 5

I'm very very happy with this toner, I use it as serum and it's very moisturizing without making my skin extra oily! It became an essential step for both my morning and evening skincare routines! One thing about the packaging is, the bottle looks like glass but it's actually plastic!

Have you used any of the mal:gem products?

    1. I also have a review on the wonder pore one. I prefer this one because it's more moisturizing and works as a serum.

  4. I totally agree, it is such a nice, mild, moisturizing toner/serum. It doesn't cause problems with products on top, and smells wonderful; it kind of reminds me of lemonade (without really smelling like it), the scent just makes me happy.. ^^
Great& mild ingredients with hyaluronic acid and panthenol ; thanks for listing them!!
I got Smoother and the Emulsion and like both, though they also didn't do more for me than just providing excellent moisture, without any cons.

  6. No Alcohol? Interesting! I've never tried any thick toner though. I'm quite used to using cotton pads for toner, but this is worth considering! :)
